And it dose work!

Yep, its done ... I got a (more or less) working camera subroutine which I can applay wherever and whenever I want. Once I got some little bugs here and there gone, changed the scale of the solarsystem, I can start to make the first skrips for the ship control!

I'm so excited!

And once I got that done, I can start to think about some basic physics and what content I'll add, I mean stuff like planets, moons, astroids, trojan and stuff like that ...

er ... and by the way: Marry Christmas and a happy new year (late, but better than never ^.^)

Back to the Roots

First day of the christmas holidays and ... ah ... peace ... I feel great ... finaly time for me and my little private projects:

My FPS hover camera still don't work but I just dicovered a possible couse:

I dicovered that the logic in my Motion.Straigh code is wrong. That logic is supposed to give a vector back that leads a thing to a other thing, sounds simple, but I made a little error, somwhere in that 100 line thing ... and it will take a few hours till I got it bug free ...

But on the other hand I've dicovered too that my skill must have improved in the last month, because I found many stuff that I changed here and ther, and a found a lack of documantari at the whole thing ... that sounds like a lot of fun ... can't wait till tomorrow to fix that :-)

Hey, and by the way, if youlive near vienna (austria), ... beware ... Ifinaly passed the roadtest and got my licence. ^.^

Planet Madness

It works!

I've wrote a few lines just a few days ago, which are supposed to move a object around and other object, ... and ... it works! WHOOHOO!

So I now got a earth (cycled by a moon) and a venus cycleing the big thing in the center ... I'm so good ...

And now to the bad news:
After I've made the first few test with this new thingy, I stated to make few camera movement sub routines ... which was a bad idea ...

I hope that I can use the rest of the ... week to get it work like a want it to work, but ... if not ... I'm on the edge of failing ... anf failing is not that what I want with this project ... *fingercrossing*

Nothing New

It was a few weeks since my last post here, thats mainy because there happened anything to tell about.

OK, ... Mass Effect, game of the year 2007/2009/2010, and I spend every free second playing it, with great impact on my marks and my Nature of Random Project.

I plan to make a review about ME, but there is just so much to write about ... how do profis get all that infos into a few pages?

So thats all for now ... Lets go back to my X-Box 360 and save to univers ... again and again and again ...

Nature of Random

I've only spend some mintutes on my new project, because I got problems with the height map prototyp, which would be an great part of the project.

First I try to make the lines (I've now, out of desperation, have copied out of the XNA sample) work and make some little edits on them.
For example I want to make the height map automaticle repead itself and write the first lines of, how I call it, 'nature of random', but I don't want to say anything more about this.

I acctualy was so desperate that I even thought of changing the engine, but XNA ... just look so good ...

And I'm afread that I woun't find any time in the next week to fixt that 'no entrypoint' problem, because I'll get Mass Effect this week and I'll play it ... all day long ... and then write a review and post it somewhere here or there.

My New Project

Imagen a clear blue sky, birds fly around and the wind plam the green trees.

Now image the same landscape for 5 km above.

And now imagen you were sitting in a 6 wheeled ATV in the rear of a Ship, looking down the oppend rear hatch seeing the same landscape moveing pass below.

And now imagen a guy behind the ATV bushing the big slingshoot button, and 'zing' ... the ship accelerate, ... but you're not.

And you fall, facing the cruelty of the ground below.

And you got the basic idea of my next project.

LEGO Mako Manual

Its done!

4 month! 2 weeks! and 5 days!

It took me that amount of time to make 77 pictures of build steps,
103 pictures of LEGO bricks,
and a 79 page long Manual, all about a little (~25cm) Mako Model.

It was ther first thing I ever made in that direction. And I was the best thing I allways will have done in that direction.

Its perfekt. :-)

Nightmare before December

I've got a great game idea today.

Its easy: the city in in chaos because it did not stop snowing the last few days and now there are meters of snow at every drive and you're the only one who can make them passable.

You can run around and clean what a drives you want, but you may have to get to the doors first to make a deal before the drive is clean, else they may not pay you.
And if you save the money, instead of buying sweet bonus points with it, you can purchase in a bigger snow shovel or even in a snowblower!

The goal of the game is a to get enougth money for your own car!

You can use that game idea for your own games :-)

... And don't ask me how I came up with this ... yes ... the snow is back again. :D

I just finished that .zip file containing the manual .pdf, and list of all parts, and the right pictures of theis parts (if the name is not enought).

I want to release it tomorrow, but ther is still some stuff that I have to take care of. If the peopel who I've send a message respond faster it would go faster, but ... you know ... this can take time ... :-)

Feelings

Do you know that feeling? Snow is gone. The next test in school are comming like a big red guy carrieing a bag on his back. And and the all bad school brack gives you a call which tells you that you can get your graficcard back?

Yes! My own PC will work again!

For those who've missed it: My PC used to brack down sometimes. Just 2 month ago I figured out that ther was a little copper cooling device on the grafic card ... that was gone! So I tooked that card and brought it back to the shop. Ther they claimed that they may have to send it to Asus and that it could take up to 6 weeks till I get it back.

Now, 8 weeks late I can go to the shop and get the replacement. ... it took MS 3 days to replace my brocken X-Box 360 ... just to give you that feeling.

Ja, and do you know that feeling, that you got if you onyl got 48 steps left to make, but somehow you don't even find any stupid minute on that Lego crap that I can't see anymore? Bingo. I got this one with the Manula thing.

I should get time this Wednesday till Sunday to actualy finish it and find a way to publish it in the interrnet. ... man ... can wait till this one is out and I can start my next project ... the Lego Mako Dropminigame! WooHoo! :-)

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow ...

And nother two days have passed without that I 've done anything on the Manual, and it will take a while till I got time again ... hopefully I'll get my graficcard back this week, so that I can spend more time on it again.

And hey! The first snow came this night! Yes the white stuff that can fokus all your thoughts on you face, if you got some of it in you face.
The fact that snow is fallen in the november is especialy interresting, because we've got no snow last year till january. If I got luck, we'll have 1m again and I can stay at home and play Mass Effect once its out.

By the Way, I've came up with a great idea of an other blog about games, where I test games and also share expierence. But I don't got anything to write ther yet so it will take a while till I open it.

Hey I got a blog!

So thats it ... finaly I got a blog too, ... even if I'm not sure yet what to do with it, but ... I got it.

Ok ... lets start ...

The Lego Mako Manual is doing well. I just started to make the first two steps in the open office want to be word (which can the same like the real, but is free). I finaly also found a easy way to make the steps. The try with gimp showed that any drawing programm would be to slow for that application, they don't got the structure, word got.

So thats it ... for today ... I don't know how often I gona post here, but I plan to make it.
